_LEARN is for secondary, FE, HE and youth service professionals who want to focus on designing curriculum and supporting learning outcomes, not paperwork. We'll look at the latest tech and research into how emerging tools - particularly in AI - can be harnessed in learning spaces to free up educators in their capacity and creativity.
Through a series of talks and hands-on activities, educators will be able to play, learn and apply new skills - with tech giveaways for participants.

Emily Abbas
Emily Abbas is a Senior Manager at Faculty - one of the UK's leading applied AI/ Machine Learning companies. A former Civil Servant with eight years of experience, including two years in the No10 Policy Unit as Senior Policy adviser to the Prime Minister throughout Covid-19.
Emily is currently leading on DfE work, including running the two day hackathon for teachers, leaders and students. She has been taking the findings and helping to build an AI proof of concept for the education sector to help minimise administrative burden for teachers and ensure equal access across all students.

James Maltby
Educational technology has rapidly transformed learning worldwide, but many barriers and opportunities still exist. For 2024, Save the Children UK has published its Global Edtech Challenges highlighting the important educational problems that could be supported by emerging technologies. James Michael Maltby will be joining us to introduce the challenges and explain how UK teachers and educational leaders can learn more and share best practices.
James is an educator and technologist passionate about inclusive learning and international development. He is currently Head of Digital Learning at Save the Children UK Humanitarian Leadership Academy where he leads an award-winning team that create innovative online learning to support crisis response worldwide. In 2019, James became a fellow of the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 for his work embedding immersive learning technology into technical teaching. He has presented his research at the Royal Society and featured on BBC One's Countryfile. At the start of his career, he was a special educational needs teacher supporting children with autism, communication and interaction difficulties.

These workshops will allow educators as much time as possible to have hands-on experience and a more in-depth focus on one aspect of creative tech.
Class VR will enable educators to participate in a whole class VR experience and see how VR can work to enhance learning in a classroom setting.
ClassVR from Avantis Education, is an award-winning all-in-one VR and AR system for schools. Designed from the ground up solely for education, ClassVR includes all the hardware, software, tools, training, support and implementation services needed to effectively deploy AR/VR technology in the classroom.
Faculty will be supporting educators' use of generative AI to increase productivity.
Faculty AI is a leader in applied AI consultancy and technology. They help businesses implement safe human-led AI, and developed Frontier, the world's first AI operating system.
Their Fellowship programme gives STEM PhD, Masters graduates and postdoctoral researchers the training to move from academia to a career in data science.
Oak National Academy will enable educators to try out generative AI tools to support lesson planning and assessment.
Oak National Academy is an organisation providing an online classroom and resource hub in the UK. It provides teachers with free lessons and resources for pupils aged from 4 to 16, from reception to year 11. Oak also includes a specialist curriculum for supporting pupils who normally attend specialist settings.
