Health Tech Careers Roadshow

Health Sector STEAM and Creative Technology Careers Roadshow

OFFEO-healthtech-copy
  • How can a creative tech passion become a career in the health sector?
  • Where are the opportunities in the Basildon area?
  • What are some of the different roles involved in using health tech?

What it's about

The Health Sector STEAM and Creative Technology Careers Roadshow is designed to demonstrate the rich variety of roles in health based STEAM careers. The event will include interactive career stations, activities and workshops to help young people visually bridge the gap between what they enjoy doing, and what they could potentially do as a future career.

Schools are invited to book onto a morning (9:30-11:45) or afternoon (12:30-14:45) session.

What to expect

Interactive career stations – These stations will be supported by industry professionals, who will talk about their roles whilst offering an interactive activity for the students to try. Having an interactive activity helps to initiate conversations with students, provide an opportunity to explore role related skills as well as drawing them over to discover a career they may not have previously considered.

Workshops – Workshops are running simultaneously to the interactive stands and students will be set challenges and provided with an opportunity to explore specific STEAM / Creative Technology areas in a little more depth. Students will be expected to attend at least one workshop as part of their experience.

What the aims are

• To develop interest in Health based STEAM careers with hands-on experiences and interactions with workforce personnel.
• To show the diversity of roles and pathways, raising aspirations for career goals.
• To bring meaning to classroom learning and linking to Health related STEAM careers.
• To provide young people with work-related activities to meet schools' statutory obligation outlined in the Gatsby Benchmarks.
• To extend students’ understanding of the world of work.
• To provide experiences for students meeting and developing confidence to interact with new professional people.
