About the speakers
Tina Ramdeen is the Associate Director of Young People at the Roundhouse and an Advisor for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, as well as a Trustee for the Cultural Learning Alliance and Camden Spark (Camden’s Local Cultural Education Partnership). Tina is passionate about providing equitable access to high quality creative opportunities, progression pathways to diversify the creative industries, and empowering young people to use creativity to affect social change. Tina sits on the DfE and DCMS Expert Advisory Panel for the Cultural Education Plan, and advises cultural organisations on policy and practice relating to working with young people.
Aaron Shrimpton is a New Talent Bafta winning filmmaker with a client roster including Ai Wei Wei, Channel 4 and Fatboy Slim. Their New Waverley Studios released short film 'Arcadia Lasts' set in Basildon/Southend to international commendation. A Basildon native and resident, Aaron dedicates energy and resources to creating projects that give local people access to art and poetry, bridging gaps within the community, including 'Estuary Dreams #2' exhibiting as part of the Estuary Festival and short art-doc 'S for Southend' for Focal Point Gallery. A slam winning poet, Aaron curated Peggy Sue's Poetry in Leigh-on-Sea and the popular 'Words In Chalk' in Southend.
