What it’s about
Live coding is an improvisational process, akin to playing an instrument, but using code to manipulate sound and create interactive visual effects. This workshops focuses on the creative outcomes of live coding, encouraging young people to experiment with musical patterns, rhythms, and textures while simultaneously generating stunning visual displays that complement their compositions. By learning live coding, participants will not only develop new artistic skills but also engage in real-time creativity, where they make spontaneous decisions that shape both the sound and visual elements of the performance.
If you have a laptop or tablet please bring this along, alternatively, there will be devices available to use.
What to expect
This workshop invites participants to dive into live coding, experimenting hands-on with creating soundscapes and visuals in real time. Guided exercises will include crafting musical patterns, generating dynamic visual effects, and modifying code on-the-fly to shape audio-visual compositions. The session encourages creativity through improvisation, giving participants the chance to build and refine their own interactive performances.
Ideal for adults aged 18+, this session is perfect for young professionals, creative tech businesses, and educators exploring new artistic practices.
